One more step forward - Tub Tile

tubtile.jpg

Today the tile guys returned to work on the tub deck. The plumber must come now, hook up the tub and then the tile guys will return once again to finish up the deck. Somehow they designed the deck where it was hard to install the tub’s plumbing with the tile in place. Don’t ask. Its a complicated issue which makes my head swim.

The front panel will be painted Sherwin Williams Antique White like the rest of the bathroom cabinets.

Its gorgeous. I can’t wait to move in!

Granite

Today the granite countertops arrived. The guys pulled up in their truck, measured for the sinks and installed the backsplash.

Everyday I’m more and more excited as the project adds more details.

Reminds me of God and how He works in my life. Little by little, He adds to it, reshapes, remodels and repurposes.

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

New Replaces Old

<<<<<<<- OLD

<<<<< NEW

A few months ago Mr Fabulous Fifty started to remove the door levers in the house. I’ve been on the hunt, scoping out replacement levers. The brand: Kwikset. The style: Tustin. The color: Venetian Bronze.

The color is inspired by the gorgeous Delta faucets in the master bathroom.

Once I found what I wanted and checked the prices at Home Depot… Lowes… Ace Hardware… And anywhere else I could find offline, I started my hunt online. They were still too expensive until I found an ebayer. A nice lady in California had a pile of the levers I wanted. NEW! I bought what she had but I still need 6 dummy levers and two more passage levers. Not bad for a house the needs 28 door levers for its 28 doors. Score for the bargain at 35% off the cheapest price and I have new door levers.

The first package was split open and the door lever and guts were laid on the table while I searched through the instructions and got started. The first one took me about 15 minutes of re-reading and making sure I was getting the locking mechanism on the correct side of the door, the striker in the door frame fitted right and the door closing on cue.

From that point on, I was a door-lever-changing-machine.

Add another skill to my list of talents.

I am woman, hear me roar.

Tile!

The tile guys finished up the shower today….

Along with the floor. Looks like hardwood, right? Its not. Its tile too. :) It needs to be sealed and mopped again…but I’m very pleased.

Its gorgeous!

Monday should be counter tops, sinks, faucets and the start of the bathtub install.
