Thanksgiving at Plimouth!

Back in June, I purchased tickets for us for Thanksgiving day – at the Plimouth Plantation. We plan on arriving early enough to visit the Plantation and visit with in the Home of (re-enactors) Francis Cooke and Hester Cooke and Stephen and Elizabeth Hopkins in particular. In the last few years, I’ve managed to document and receive my official Mayflower society certificate as a descendent of Francis Cooke. My supplemental application is in process for Stephen Hopkins. We plan on seeing the Mayflower II – to imagine life back in 1620: The reformation in full bloom within Europe and the persecution of the christians within the Church of England, the Huguenots in France and Germany and the entire cultural environment that led a group of saints and strangers to huddle in a boat named the Mayflower.

We are super excited about our plans. I’m hoping the weather warms up a bit. In the 40’s during the day – is cold for Texas. In Massachusetts – colder still! We have 2 walking tours planned – one of downtown historic Plymouth and one of the Founders Monument. I need to make sure I take some cuddle duds! And a hat. And gloves. Have you been to Plymouth?
